Despite counter-intuitive user interface, I do think this is the best of the bunch. The facilities for automatic scheduling and the flexibility of mapping resources onto tasks are great, and I haven't seen the like in FastTrack, PMX or any of the others I keep trying in the hope of finding something similarly powerful. Some key things I want from a tool like this is that it will stop me from allocating a task to somebody who isn't available, let me enter different working times and vacations for different people, attempt to schedule things automatically for me, and allow me some flexibility in allocating tasks to resources. I haven't found anything else on the Mac that will do this. |

I've been looking for an MS Project replacement for Mac since MS stopped selling their version. This is not it! Java app, x-platform Mac/Win/Nix. It's an example of how clunky a Java app can be - slow, clunky, awful UI. Toolbars messy, fonts on column heads too big, general sloppiness and ugliness if you're a seasoned Mac user (although the Gantt scaling slider is a good idea). General navigability is frustrating - you can't simply enter data & tab around like MS Project. Import from MS Project did not work for me. MS Projecy hasn't had any significant features added for years (project management is, after all, well defined)...why the lack of a good program for Mac, I don't know. If anyone knows of one, please let me know!! |
