I have been using LetterWorks exclusively for 6 months. I use it instead of TextEdit to open txt, rtf, and doc files, and to convert pdf files. It is very stable. I think early problems with the layout mode are now fixed. It is not intuitive, but it works, it is cheap, and it doesn't require 100mb. The name is now LetterStar, although (thank heaven) it has little in common with WordStar. Once set up and tinkered with, it provides good service and a great bargain.

LetterWorks rocks! Finally it's easy and straight forward to write letters as well as envelopes. The integration of the Apple address book makes life so much easier. Thanks for such a smart solution!

Well I enjoy it but it has a few bugs and moreover the developper didn't upgrade it since more than a year. He spent more time with MenuCalendarClock... probably more profitable!

Now, with Tiger, there are even more bugs (that's I insert an address and it prints with another). I'm looking forward to see an update coming out. Specially now tht all my letters are in Letter Star proprietary format. And this soft is nothing but cheap!

This prgram urgently needs an upgrade. Handling of windows, maximizining, zooming, page viewing, all that is far behind state of the art. The programers know that, but there is nothing coming. I have used Letter Star since day one, and the UI is still more MS windows than Mac like. Will switch to Mellem, Marine Writer or the new Nisus writer if there is no change. Just not fun to work with this way.
