Simple, non-bloated small business accounting program for the Macintosh.

TinyBooks is a simple, flexible, non-bloated, single-entry bookkeeping and accounting system for the Macintosh. TinyBooks is designed for Sole Proprietors, home and other small businesses, and family finances.
TinyBooks is the simplest way to handle the books for most small companies. You enter your expenses and income, and TinyBooks does the rest. Current and year-to-date on-the-fly totals are continually displayed. Fully automatic bar-charting of all expense and income accounts make the determination of monthly trends intuitively obvious.
A fully non-modal Reports Window offers easy standard and custom reporting and searching. All transactions are easily exportable to other programs as standard tab-delimited text files.
Expense, income and special mileage entry forms can be printed for off line entry of data as desired. Non-fiscal years are supported, as is the concept of recurring expenses.
TinyBooks includes a Professional Invoice Printer, that is as easy to use as the rest of the program. It prints professional-looking invoices and estimates on plain white paper. No special, expensive forms are required. These invoices/estimates can also be customized with your own logo, fonts, etc.
TinyBooks also includes intuitive support for handling virtually any kind of taxes from any country, including State Sales Taxes, GST (Goods and Service Taxes), PST (Provincial Sales Taxes), VAT (Value Added Taxes) and more.
TinyBooks, based on years of experience doing the books, is written exclusively for the Macintosh (OS9 and OSX) and is available now.

Have been trying to try out the program... but the UI under Mac OS X is horrible! But so far so good as the program goes. |

The are loads of these sorts of apps. Too many probably and overpriced. Small business or not I think it is easier to just write up accounts in any spreadsheet app like Open Office or Neo Office where you are much more hands on with everything and can easy make graphs and do a whole load of stuff with the data as well as just book keeping. |

I tried this app once. Sort of ok, but it is physically too small and fiddly and pokey and it's hard to find where you can see all the data you have entered. And you have to manually select what kind of entry you are making as you are doing it. |

I am a small internet based business with a lot of odd accounts due to foreign sales and commissions. This program handles everything for me and more in a very simple and straight forward manner. It isn't complicated. You dont have to be a bookkeeper to understand and use it. You have an income you enter it in, you pay an expense enter it in. I can see at a glance my expenses, income, net income etc... for any given time. |

I have been using this program for several months, starting with the previous version. I am a relatively new Mac user (switched from PC a little more than a year ago) and was looking for a simple accounting program to replace the one I used on my PC. The Quick Books software that came included on my Powerbook was way too complicated and elaborate and not very user friendly. After searching around the web I came across Tinybooks and tried out the free-use version. I found it easy to use and perfect for my needs. I then ordered it and have been using it with great satisfaction ever since. I am a sole proprieter of a small business and Tinybooks is perfect for my needs. It is easy to use and works without a hitch. Perhaps the best part about Tinybooks is its creator. Ken is always available to answer questions on a moment's notice. He has guided me during intial set-up and can always be counted on to reply immediately to any questions. Best of all, he's always receptive to any user suggestions for improving the program and has frequently incorporated these into upgrades. Now that's service! Try asking Quicken to add a feature to their software. If you are a small business owner and need an easy, uncomplicated and reliable accounting program, this is perfect. |

TinyBooks, has done exactly what it says and has always been competently supported by one of the best, small, Mac-friendly developers we have. I agree with User 44. Ken is great to deal with and should have support from TinyBook users, not derision from non-users. TinyBooks itself is as advertised. Simple for small businesses. it works and cost less than more elaborate programs whose features are not needed by many people. I started with Ken's simple games some years ago, and will try almost anything he writes. |
