They ARE educational. Their simplicity is part of their strength. I wouldn't mind seeing something a bit more exciting sometimes and perhaps that may be coming, but overall, these have been great. Good for students at almost every level. Not a bad idea to buy and give some of these as gifts for certain students. They do learn from it. And they do play it. I have seen them do it.
